What does it take to be a neo-yankee???

“Then sir, we will give them the bayonet” Stonewall Jackson at the 1st battle of Bull Run.

It seems the Hate not History crowd, Led by Al Mackey and Andy Hall,  is working overtime these days. It is hard to address all of the comments and still have a life. That being said I will start with Al Mackey’s blog page what does it take to be a neo_ Confederate at http://studycivilwar.wordpress.com/2013/10/13/what-does-it-take-to-be-a-neoconfederate/

Here is Mackey’s list—

1. Stupidity.  Well if stupidity is  a qualification for being a neo-Confederate it is certainly a qualification for being a neoyankee.  Who cares what it takes to get into the Union? All states in The War for Southern Independence had done all that was required to enter the Union. What Mackey failed to point out is Article 4 Section 3 of the US Constitution.

1:  New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress. of the United States Constitution. Lincoln allowing West Virginia to enter the Union violated that article, I am certain Virginia did not give any permission for a part of that state to renamed.

Continuing on Mackey’s number 1 he states —–  I told the troll a state did not have an unalienable right to alter or abolish their government in order to protect slavery. Wrong in 1861 there was nothing in the constitution that prevented the South from peacefully leaving the Union for what ever reason. Lincoln himself said– Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable, a most sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world. Nor is this right confined to cases in which the whole people of an existing government may choose to exercise it. Any portion of such people, that can, may revolutionize, and make their own of so much of the territory as they inhabit.”   Mackey then has to go into a rant about racism– typical statements when one is at loss for fact.  The fact is in 1861 slavery was legal in the United States, under the United States flag and was until the 13th amendment was passed.

2. Lack of Intellectual Integrity. Well I just proved Mackey has  no Intellectual Integrity. So he qualifies on that point.  In the past I have pressed Mackey to post one document proving that slavery was a cause of the war. To date he has deleted all my requests and refused to post requested document.

3.  Lack of historical knowledge. Humm I question this qualification for either Confederate or neoyankee researchers. I think a better  qualification would be acknowledge true historical fact.  Mackey and several other neoyankee researchers are very knowledge in history however they twist the facts and refuse to acknowledge true historical fact when it is presented to them.

Only three things, all having an educational or knowledge aspect, to be a Confederate. Let’s take these three things and add insulting hate filled ranting bully, bigot, racist a**hole as qualifications to be a neoyankee.  That pretty much simples  the definition.  Anyone doubting this definition simply go to — http://thehistoricstruggle.wordpress.com/2013/04/04/fort-sumter-the-case-for-hungry-soldiers/ and you can see exactly what I am referring to.

  1. West Virginia was created out of the western counties of Virginia because of the issue of slavery and the fact that the government in Richmond was neither the legitamate state nor legitamate Federal Government. I was a government of rebellious states…rebelling over a preceived threat to slavery when Lincoln’s government had done nothing to slavery when the states seceded.

Once you can provide a historical fact, we “neo-yankees” will consider it.
